MapHazards Pro is a service for Environmental Professionals, Government Agencies and others and is used to view environmental hazard sites for any location in the United states. You can pan the map from California to New York and see all of the national and state level environmental hazards sites along the way.

The system puts YOU in control of the data you need.

Environmental Professionals needing ASTM 1527-13 compliant database reports can locate their subject property, review surrounding hazard sites, and obtain the completed report in a matter of minutes.

Our goal is to provide our clients with reasonably priced, high quality environmental risk data via an easy to use interface that meets their environmental due diligence needs.

MapHazards Pro started life as the STARReports System back in 2002. STARReports was a desktop system for generating live ASTM 1527-13 AAI reports. With the rise of cloud computing, we moved the entire system onto the web starting in 2006. The STARReports system traces its lineage back to 1992 when Mr. Mathews created his first radius reporting system for a local Environmental Consulting firm in the Silicon Valley. The firm wanted a report that was better, easier to use and more local than available from the big players.

Chris Olsen, Chief Executive Officer

Chris Olsen has over 18 years of experience in the environmental assessment and natural hazard disclosure industries. Mr. Olsen has a B.A. in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Barbara, and an MBA from Santa Clara University. Mr. Olsen started his career at PIERS Environmental Services, Inc., where he spent two and a half years doing research and Phase 1 Site Assessments. In 1996, Mr. Olsen became the Production and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Manager for E/ Risk Information Services, Inc. E/Risk specialized in providing natural hazard and environmental risk management products to the State of California real estate industry. Mr. Olsen served as Director of Operations of VISTAInfo’s Property Disclosure Division (a real estate information and property disclosure firm) from May 2000 through February 2002. Mr. Olsen and Brad Mathews (CTO) founded Cypress Technology Solutions, Inc. in February 2002. Mr. Olsen has served as President of Cypress since 2002.

Brad Mathews has been programming since he was 11 years old and as a middle and high school student helped build the first computer labs and curriculum at the prestigious Delphian School in Oregon which later graduated students which went on to start and run companies such as Earthlink and DiskKeeper. Mr. Mathews and 3 partners started E/Risk Information Services, Inc. in 1996 and developed the first commercially succesful GIS system for automating the creation of natural hazards reports. E/Risk was acquired by VistaInfo in 1998. He created some of the earliest cloud based applications while at VistaInfo. After leaving VistaInfo in 2002, Mr. Mathews and Mr. Olsen founded Cypress Technology Solutions to bring our environmental, natural hazards and advanced GIS automation expertise to a broader audience.
